Nutella Milkshake

Last night as I was browsing Pinterest, I suddenly had a burst of inspiration (also known as pinspiration). I found two recipes for nutella milkshakes and decided to try making one the next day (today).  Since both recipes contained the same ingredients (nutella, milk, and ice cream), my adventurous side kicked in and I decided to ‘invent’ my own milkshake recipe, using the recipes I had found as guidelines.

As I was gathering my essential three ingredients, I noticed we had a container of liquid heavy whipping cream; as I reached for the whipping cream, all I thought was “why not?” You don’t have to use the heavy whipping cream, but I recommend it because the whipping cream gives the milkshake a much creamier taste and fluffier texture.

The links to my “guideline” recipes are from The Little Kitchen and Kirbie’s Cravings

Ingredients:

  • about 2 tbsp. nutella
  • 1 1/2 – 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 – 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Method:

Put the ingredients into a blender and blend together (about 30 seconds). Pour into glasses and enjoy!

Nutella Heist

Nutella Heist

It wasn’t us! We didn’t do it!

It’s just a coincidence that we blogged about Nutella and tons of it got stolen. We hope the 5,000 stolen jars doesn’t cause a Nutella shortage!

Nutella Hot Chocolate

Nutella Hot Chocolate

We found this recipe for Nutella Hot Chocolate and had to try it! And now we’re telling you: this hot chocolate is a must-try! The recipe calls for whip cream, but, since we had limited resources, we didn’t make it with the cream. Click on the picture for the full recipe!

Nutella Brownies

Nutella Brownies

To make these Nutella Brownies, we used the recipe from Nutella: les 30 recettes culte and adjusted it just a bit.

Ingredients:
150g butter
100g Nutella
100g dark chocolate
3 eggs
100g sugar
2 packets of vanilla sugar
100g flour
1 tsp. baking power
chocolate chips (optional)

Method:
First, preheat the oven to 390F. Then butter a medium-sized pan. Melt the butter in a small pot, then add the Nutella and mix well. Remove the pot from the stove and add the dark chocolate. Mix well. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy.  Slowly add the chocolate mix, flour, and baking powder. If you want to, you can add about a handful of chocolate chips. Mix the batter gently until just combined. Bake for about 20 minutes and enjoy with a glass of milk!
